This project will involve the construction of a water tank with sufficient capacity to cover current and future demand, which will improve conditions of supply and water quality in the town of Sant Miquel and in Port de Sant Miquel, which has 1,434 hotel beds.

Port de Sant Miquel is the main tourist attraction in the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja. However, it does not have a public drinking water supply network, being supplied by private water catchments.
This water is distributed via a direct connection to the supply network, which is inadvisable from a health point of view, since the treatment, and consequently, the quality, of the water distributed in the town cannot be guaranteed.
The project will involve the construction of a 2,000 m³ tank to store the water prior to distribution, the separation and renovation of water transport infrastructure and the incorporation of Port de Sant Miquel, a tourist area with around 1,500 hotel beds, into the public water supply network. The capacity of the reservoir has been calculated taking into account the current and future daily demand of both supply points, which guarantees supply for at least 24 hours in the event of a breakdown in the desalinated water transport network or accidental stoppage of the desalination plant.
Thus, a continuous, reliable supply of good quality water for all is ensured, as the reservoir will be installed in an area 200 metres above sea level. In this way, the requirement of a gravity-flow system of supply is fulfilled, which guarantees stable pressure, and improves the efficiency of the system. In addition, the new network will improve performance, as it will include remote control systems located both in the tank itself and in the networks, which will enable the rapid detection of anomalous consumption and faults.
