The project

The mission of IdISBa is to be the body that integrates and maximises health research and scientific knowledge generated on the Balearic Islands and to facilitate its transfer to improve the health of the population. Its vision is to consolidate IdISBa's position as an accredited Health Research Institute as a leader in the sector in terms of excellence.

One of its main objectives is to take action to hire and retain research talent, in order to reach a critical mass of researchers. For this reason, it is promoting the TALENT Plus project, which aims to:

- Generate, capture, recover and retain within IdISBa research talent in the field of health research and innovation, so as to create a research ecosystem that fosters internationalisation and research with a high added-value.

- Promote new lines of research that will meet the strategic health demands of the Balearic Islands population that are currently not being covered.

- Consolidate current existing health research lines that are considered to be strategic and necessary to reinforce.

- Train young researchers in a range of skills (entrepreneurship, leadership, communication) to facilitate the knowledge transfer to society.

Through this project, the objective is to create three new ambitious recruitment programmes for researchers and research assistants, namely TalentPlus Junior, TalentPlus Tech and TalentPlus Clinical, which will allow IdISBa to consolidate the trajectory that it has initiated in the last three years regarding human resources.

The principal milestones to be consolidated through the creation of these three calls are the incorporation of pre-doctoral researchers in the TalentPlus Junior programme, the incorporation of technical assistants in the TalentPlus Tech programme and the incorporation of a researcher in the TalentPlus Clinical programme.

The call for candidates will also seek to reach the main markets of the European Union in terms of recruitment of researchers based on the OTM-R (Open, Transparent and based on Merit) model. IdISBa is the only institution in the Balearic Islands which has achieved the Human Resources Excellence in Research seal granted by the European Commission, which identifies institutions that create and support a stimulating environment for research work.
