The building in this project will be aligned with two streets in a block that is 15 m deep and 28 m in the overlap area. It is divided into two aggregation units, with eight and six flats per unit, joined by a walkway on each floor. The walkways and terraces are a system of passive resources to improve the building’s sustainability.
The plot at Calle Cos 49–51–53 in Son Servera where this building is to be constructed is shaped like an irregular rectangular and borders three streets and a lane in the bottom part that links to the current Green Way.
The work will take place in an area of 1,936.52 m² and the difference in level is around 3 m.
The planned building’s physical environment is conditioned by the current Green Way. In the 1930s there was approximately 250 km of railway lines and 40 stations in Mallorca. One of these lines linked Manacor with Artà and passed through several stations, including Son Servera. After being active for 56 years, Son Servera station and this track were closed in 1977 when cars won the transport battle over trains. After many years of not being used, the green corridor, known as the Green Way, was opened in 2014 on the same route as the former train line.
