The project

The marine industry occupies a strategic place in the Balearic Islands, not just as a tourist attraction, but also as an economic driver linked to specialised technical jobs. The need for a qualified workforce has led to the setting up of a vocational training centre for the repair and maintenance of boats.

Located in Mallorca, this is CIFP L'Embat (Centro Integrado de Formación Profesional L’Embat). The school is part of the vocational training system for employment, offering courses adapted to different levels of qualification. The training programmes are tied to the professional category of ‘transport and vehicle maintenance’, with a range of certificates that recognise basic skills and more specialised profiles.

Beyond responding to the needs of the industry, the school helps to boost job opportunities, especially in local businesses with stable forecasts. The facilities ensure practical training takes place in optimal conditions, in an environment designed to make it easier to enter the working world.

The plan has involved a total investment of more than €6.5 million, funded partially by sustainable tourism tax. Thanks to this funding, a quality space has been created to accommodate the growing demand for technical training in the marine industry on the island.
