Urban renovation of a section of Carrer Sor Maria Dels Dolors in Moscari

The project

With the intention of creating an efficient and effective water network against leaks, the project aims to put a definitive end to the seasonal problem of water shortages. Moreover, burying LV, lighting and telephone lines will reduce the aggressive impact on the rural setting. 

The tender is currently awaiting a request from the company awarded the contract for the mayor's decree to finalise the process.

Main objectives

The goal is to renovate and remodel the drinking water networks in a section of Carrer Sor María dels Dolors in Moscari. At the same time, the LV, lighting and telephone lines will be buried and the pavements affected by the works will be replaced.

Description

The project will be time-bound. Based on the normal performance for this type of work, the corresponding work programme has been drawn up, which represents a total time frame of five months.

This period is indicative as it will depend on the conditions for contracting the works and even on the start date and the pace of the work, and is therefore subject to what is set by the superiority in the Administrative Specifications.

Regarding the drinking water network, the entire existing drinking water network will be replaced (double network and running under the road), which has many problems due to its age and characteristics. The new polyethylene pipes will be 110 mm in diameter and take 10 atm of pressure, and will be laid on both sides and under the curb, avoiding crossings in the road. The replacement of the new drinking water connections in all sections of the new pavement is also planned. The drainage system will also be improved.

It is worth highlighting that the lighting network is aerial and is planned to be buried in this project. It runs along the left-hand side of the street. The lighting fixtures are octagonal LED, without poles, as they are hung directly on the wall, so the only action required will be to relocate them (in the dividing walls of plots of land) and connect them to the new underground network. A new pole is planned as the wooden one on which the lighting fixtures are currently mounted is removed.

The project provides for the channelling of the telephone networks underground. For this purpose, two 63 mm PVC conduits and other conduits with two 90 mm PVC conduits and two Ø40 PE pipes have been included, together with the DM boxes, M boxes between every two dwellings and a pedestal to provide service to some 14 connections.

In relation to the LV, the installation of two/three 160 mm diameter PVC pipes plus two Ø40 tri-pipes and the crossings according to the electrical project is foreseen.
