The project

The Balearic Islands Health Research Institute (IdISBa) has launched a call for applications from research and technical staff at different stages of their scientific careers. The initiative, known as Consciencia (awareness) IdISBa, is structured into four programmes—Tech, Junior, Folium and Gestió—and aims to consolidate the institute's research ecosystem and strengthen the response to current health-related challenges.

The programme includes 19 new contracts, ranging from support technicians to pre-doctoral and post-doctoral staff and research managers. Most contracts last between two and four years and include mobility grants, training in cross-cutting skills and support for the creation of new lines of work. Selection is governed by the European principles of open, transparent and merit-based procurement (OTM-R).

With a total budget of over 2.5 million euros, this call for applications will enable progress to be made in strategic areas that are underdeveloped in the region, and also improve the capacity to manage and raise international funds. IdISBa thus reinforces its commitment to becoming a leading centre in the field of biomedicine and biotechnology.

The project also aims to facilitate the transfer of knowledge to the health system and society by obtaining results that can have direct clinical application, become guidelines, patents or innovation initiatives. In addition, training in leadership, entrepreneurship and scientific communication is encouraged, which are key for young staff to become actively involved in the R&D&I system.
