The purpose of the planning of the above-ground supply network for the island of Mallorca includes ensuring that the necessary infrastructures are in place to guarantee the water supply in terms of quality and quantity to the towns located in areas where there is a lack of proper quality water resources to supply the population.
This is intended to facilitate the recovery of aquifers that are currently contaminated or overused while also preventing the salinisation of the subsoil as a result of the advancing of seawater. This project is in its initial stages of development "Piping of the drinking water supply to Manacor". The planned pipelines have been designed to meet the demand of Ariany, Petra, Manacor as well as for the future extension of the network to the east coast of Mallorca.
The work included in this project consists of the construction of a 6,000 m3 regulating reservoir and a control building in Maria de la Salut, a main pipeline and a connection in Ariany.
Repair and modernisation of the Felanitx water tanks to optimise supply and reduce water losses.
