What does it consist of?
The project consists in providing concrete sub-measures of the Rural Development Program (PDR) 2014-2020 in order to allow the entry of new projects of cooperation that, due to lack of budget, have not been included.

The project
In a context of growing competitiveness, we must ensure that the agricultural and agri-food sectors are able to take advantage of market opportunities through generalised innovative approaches. Therefore, cooperation actions among the stakeholders involved (farmers, the food processing industry, raw materials or other interested parties) should be encouraged.
Despite the limited size of food chain stakeholders in the Balearic Islands, the sector is attracting entrepreneurship and capital from other more productive sectors. Therefore, it is necessary to offer an instrument that will encourage innovation and emphasise its intrinsic potential.
In the current framework and given the points described above, the project consists of providing financial support to specific sub-measures of the Rural Development Programme (PDR) 2014-2020 to allow the formation of new cooperation projects that currently have not been undertaken due to a lack of budget.
With this measure, the actions of design, production and/or the technological development of new products or agri-food processes will be encouraged, as well as preparation operations, tests and other tangible or intangible investments prior to the manufacturing or use of these new products or processes, with commercial purposes. Projects that focus on improvements in the environment and the circular economy will also be fostered.
The actions proposed in this project are expected to lead to an improvement in employment and competitiveness and have a positive impact on the environment, given that it is an initiative linked to the diversification of the economic model, the training of human capital, R+D+i, energy transition, and the protection and recovery of the natural environment and improvement of the water cycle.
