This project aims to promote sustainable mobility in various towns in the Balearic Islands, and to encourage the combination of different forms of sustainable transport for urban journeys. The specific measures to be implemented are as follows:
S'Arenal - Llucmajor greenway project. The recovery of a railway track that has important heritage value, as it has several singular structures. The entire section is approximately nine kilometres long. Small rest areas with pergolas will be included in those places where there are features of interest such as bridges, or panoramic views.
Greenway project in Alaró. This project reclaims the old railway line between the Consell - Alaró train station and Alaró. Some 3 km of the route will be reclaimed in order to provide a safe convenient link for both pedestrians and bicycles with the train station that serves the village and the town of Alaró.
Project for building a footbridge between Sant Jordi and Platja d'en Bossa (Ibiza). The proposal is to build a new footbridge crossing the motorway and a track for use by non-motorised traffic leading to the coast and the tourist centre of Platja d'En Bossa. Furthermore, it will take advantage of the transfer to public ownership of a house that has been expropriated, and that the council wants to use as a cultural centre.
Project aimed at improving bicycle-public transport links. This project aims to improve intermodality in public transport through the use of bicycles as a method of local travel. The plan is for various public transport stations be equipped with secure bicycle storage areas for user peace of mind.
