Support programme for technology-based entrepreneurs of the #EMPRENBIT programme

The project

The support programme for technology-based entrepreneurs #EMPRENBIT, comprises a set of support services and infrastructure which aim to encourage the creation of innovative companies and improve the competitiveness of SMEs in the Balearic Islands through innovation and technology.

Since 2003, the Government of the Balearic Islands has run the Incubator of Technology-Based Businesses of Parc Bit, which is comprised of spaces in the DISSET and Naorte buildings that offer more than 1000 m² for entrepreneurs and newly established innovative companies.

The benefitting projects of the #EMPRENBIT Programme receive the following services, among others: 

1. Physical space to develop business projects

2. Assessment and support in creative areas and consolidation of innovative companies, business and financial management;

3. Monitoring and assistance with the incubated projects throughout their life cycle; assessment and support in the search for funding for innovative projects, especially in competitive public tenders and advice on the funding of R+D+i.

The current layout of the benefitting projects in the #EMPRENBIT Programme at Parc Bit is dispersed, more specifically, it is spread out over thirteen physical incubation modules and twelve collaborative incubation spaces in the Disset building, five physical incubation modules in the Naorte building and twelve graduate companies of the #EMPRENBIT Programme and beneficiaries of the Parc Bit Business HUB.

The objective of this project is to empower technology-based entrepreneurs by expanding the inventory of resources through the acquisition of a total of 175 m² of additional space. This space will be entirely devoted to the incubation of technology-based business projects in their growth phase, taking advantage of the facilities and infrastructure available and currently on sale at Parc Bit.
