With an investment of over €1 million, Ibiza Town Council will carry out works to improve and adapt ten plots of land to encourage the use of park-and-ride services. The aim is to reduce traffic in the city centre, improve mobility and move towards a more sustainable model of public space management.

As part of its 2024–2025 plan, Ibiza Town Council has launched a project to reinforce its network of park-and-ride car parks. Work will be carried out on a dozen plots of land with a total surface area of 26,000 m² in different parts of the municipality. The project aims to provide an attractive parking alternative for those entering the centre from the outskirts, thus limiting congestion and associated emissions.
The work includes clearing the plots, levelling the land, renovating the pavement and installing street furniture. Solar-powered lighting will also be installed to ensure visibility and safety. The lots to be refurbished include Mare Nostrum, Sa Llavanera, Avinguda 8 d'Agost, and Cas Dominguets de Dalt.
Part of the work will also focus on preventing motorhomes from parking in these lots by placing clearance gauges. This measure responds to the need to control improper use of public spaces and improve local life. The design of the project has involved municipal officials, locals and representatives from the business sector.
The total budget amounts to €1,128,836 and implementation is expected to be completed within one year. The work aligns with sustainability standards, the reuse of materials and energy efficiency, and aims to contribute to a more rational model of mobility in the urban environment of Ibiza Town.
