The project

Figueretes’ coastline has long suffered from disconnected pedestrian routes, affecting the mobility of both residents and visitors. The new walkway will solve this issue by creating a continuous, comfortable and safe path to the urban seafront.

The entire path will be three metres wide and will extend to key points such as an existing concrete terrace, which will be integrated into the path. This set-up will allow people with reduced mobility to pass comfortably and ensure access for cleaning and maintenance vehicles.

The finishes are made of synthetic wooden slats, which resistant to the marine environment and require little maintenance. This choice ensures greater durability against waves and saltwater, as well as offering an attractive appearance adapted to the coastal environment.

The budget for the project is over €1.4 million and is part of a wider strategy to revitalise urban coastal areas. Once completed, the walkway will restore a very busy stretch, strengthening the connection between neighbourhoods and enhancing high-quality public spaces along the city’s seafront.
