The project is part of a broader strategy to adapt the tourism and business landscape to a more efficient and sustainable model. In the context of the urban development of Palma's Seafront Promenade, small businesses in the area face the challenge of modernising their infrastructure and reducing their environmental impact.
The work planned includes the renovation of lighting and air-conditioning systems, improvements to thermal insulation, the installation of automation systems and the promotion of the use of renewable energy. The project also foresees the replacement of obsolete equipment with more efficient versions and the purchase of durable and recyclable outdoor furniture.
The aims include improving the economic viability of SMEs, reducing energy consumption and promoting responsible practices. The plan also seeks to ensure compliance with new environmental standards and boost the resilience of local businesses to the effects of climate change.
The estimated investment is over €7.7 million and will allow work to be carried out on around 70 indoor premises and 250 outdoor units. These grants aim to make the new promenade not only more accessible and modern, but also a space aligned with the principles of efficiency, circular economy and urban sustainability.
